UNSW offers students flexible study options across a wide range of disciplines, access to over 200 exchange destinations worldwide and scholarships support that is second to none. And all of this is delivered at a well-equipped leafy campus that is minutes from the Sydney CBD. Students can live, study and play in on-campus residential accommodation that mirrors some of the best in the world.
UNSW is also one of Australia’s leading universities, renowned for the quality of its students and graduates and ranked 85th in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and 52nd by the QS World University Rankings 2012. The university was awarded five stars (the highest rating) for teaching, research and graduate starting salaries in the latest Good Universities Guide. UNSW undergraduates are in the top 5 per cent for median starting salaries (Australian Graduate Survey 2011), plus more of Australia’s top CEOs studied at UNSW than any other university in Australia (research by Leading Company, 2012). The university is also recognised for its strong links to industry and community, reflecting its focus on real-world research and proactive community engagement.
UNSW was noted as Australia’s most innovative university at the 2012 Thompson Reuters Citation and Innovation Awards and receives the highest funding from industry partners through Linkage Project grants. The university is a founding member of the prestigious Group of Eight — a coalition of Australia’s leading research-intensive universities.
The main campus is located in Kensington, seven kilometres from the Sydney CBD and a short walk from the beach. The COFA campus is located in the inner Sydney suburb of Paddington, and the university college at the Australian Defence Force Academy is located in Canberra. The Kensington campus is just 15 minutes by express bus from Central Station, 30 minutes from Circular Quay and 15 minutes from Bondi Junction. With nearly 1700 express bus services per week, the Kensington campus is easily accessible.
