Course Description
This program combines features of the Bachelor of Actuarial Studies and Bachelor of Economics degrees. It leads to the award of two degrees. The Actuarial Studies degree aims to provide high level applied and theoretical knowledge and skills in Actuarial Studies, Accounting and Finance, Economics and Statistics. It is specifically designed for those students who wish to become a professional actuary or more generally for those students wishing to enter careers in the banking, finance or insurance industries. The Economics degree aims to provide high level applied and theoretical knowledge and skills in economics and related disciplines. It is designed to provide students with an appreciation of various economic issues such as unemployment, resource allocation, economic growth, income distribution and foreign trade.

Structure
The program consists of 192 units comprising the professional sequence in actuarial studies; a sequence in Economics including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and International Economics; studies in Econometrics, Economic History, Finance and Statistics; and electives chosen from a wide range of disciplines.
