Course Description
This qualification is part of the Community Services Training Package. It covers workers in children's services who are responsible for planning, implementing and managing programs in early childhood services, in accordance with licensing, accreditation and duty of care requirements. Workers at this level supervise other staff and volunteers. In most states it is the highest qualification required at director or service manager level for children's services centre-based care.

Core: Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children; Support emotional and psychological development in early childhood; Plan and implement inclusion of children with additional needs; Gather, interpret and use information about children; Work in partnership with families to provide appropriate care for children; plus more. Electives: Manage innovation and continuous improvement; Manage home based care administration requirements; Advocate for the rights and needs of children and young people; Promote ethical understanding of children; Confirm client developmental status; Apply and monitor food safety requirements; Develop understanding of children's interests and developmental needs; plus more.

Advanced standing at universities offering early childhood courses. Diploma to Degree program credit into Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies (Child and Family) at University of Western Sydney; and Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) at Macquarie University.
