The Master of Applied Art and Design aims to enable students and professionals to reach a high level of expertise and qualification in contemporary design and art practice. The course aims to develop creative and professional skills through studies in cross and interdisciplinary design and art practice. It is suited to applicants with knowledge and expertise from other disciplines as well as those with formal qualifications in art and design. Students will learn through discussion, reflection and the production of original and innovative solutions to studio based or industrially related projects. The study program encourages independent research, originality, creative leadership and awareness of the needs of contemporary society.

Graphic designers produce visual communications, including art and layouts of text for reproduction in print and electronic media such as magazines, newspapers, books and websites, and image designs for corporate identity programs, exhibitions and advertising.
Industrial designers create and produce designs for commercial, medical and industrial products. They also make models and prototypes of these designs for mass production.
The products that industrial designers create cover a wide range of manufactured goods, from toys and toasters to furniture and heavy machinery. Some work is carried out on the development of new products. Other work is related to updating and improving the design of existing products.
