This research course develops, through the conduct of a supervised research project, the ability of a suitably qualified candidate to contribute to the knowledge and practice of engineering. At the completion of the assigned project, the candidate submits a written thesis presenting the results of the work and discussing the significance of them for the pertinent field of engineering.

This course is undertaken by research and by coursework.
Relevant honours degree in science
Students should not enrol in this research course to receive a related Postgraduate Diploma but rather have undertaken it as a requisite for admission.
Failure to attain a satisfactory standard in the qualifying units in the Masters Qualifying Program will render a student ineligible for re-enrolment in the Master degree.
