Course Description
This double degree prepares multi-skilled professionals who meet the requirements for employment in the fields of nursing and ambulance paramedic practice. Core studies are undertaken in the biosciences (e.g. anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, microbiology, and pharmacology), the behavioural sciences, ethics, law, and research. These studies are complemented by discipline specific studies in nursing and paramedic practice.

Comments
The Queensland Ambulance Service specifies the following requirements before students can undertake a clinical placement: assessment of fitness to drive a commercial vehicle; criminal history check; health-related fitness assessment to ensure students have the cardiovascular and muscular abilities to perform the paramedic role; Hepatitis B vaccination. Other vaccinations are also recommended. QUT offers a range of scholarships that provide real support for students.
