Course Description
The course focuses on the theoretical and applied dimensions of human caring. Theoretical modules are linked with practical experience. Clinical experience incorporates supervised clinical practice in a variety of hospital, health agency and community settings throughout northern Queensland, beginning in first year. Graduates develop a wide range of skills to assist individuals and families in their experience of health and wellbeing. The course also emphasises nursing for rural, remote and Indigenous communities, plus tropical health issues.

Comments
Students must provide evidence of immunity to hepatitis B within the first teaching period of their studies. A Suitability Card is required prior to the first clinical placement. Some placement agencies require students to produce a current Australian Federal Police check.
