Course Description
This course aims to give students practical skills at a technician level, in drafting or design for employment in engineering. Workers support or supplement the work of professional engineers by preparing drawings and specifications, designing to requirement, calculating and costing projects, coordinating and programming tasks, testing materials and developing quality control techniques.
Subjects you can Study
Communicating and applying standard industry procedures and policies in an engineering design office; Preparing basic engineering drawings to AS 1100; Using computer-aided drafting systems to produce basic engineering drawings; Using extended features of CAD; Using standard office computer software for technical applications; Using technical mathematics (basic and advanced); Analysing force systems (basic and advanced); Selecting common engineering materials; Demonstrating awareness of environmental issues; Preparing cost estimates; Completing an engineering design project. Plus specialist units.
