This program provides health professionals with a knowledge base relevant to the provision of mental health services in their practice environments; and provides mental health practitioners with skills relevant to their area of study.

Bachelor degree in a health, social work or other related field and relevant work experience; or post-secondary study and relevant work experience.
Graduates will have the opportunity to progress to the Master of Mental Health. The course list for the Graduate Certificate comprises 4 mandatory courses which are also in the Master of Mental Health. Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate can have these courses credited toward a Master of Mental Health if they wish to continue their studies and are admitted to that program.
Some fields meet part of the requirements for some psychotherapy associations, but additional supervision is required. As this program does not meet the visa requirements for international students, prospective international students should consider the Master of Mental Health.
